I am a totally self-professed photography nut. I recently read a quote by another stay-at-home-mother/self-made photographer on a blog: "My favorite thing about photography is that I can take an intangible moment and make it last forever." Almost every single one of my photos that I have I can tell you where it was shot, what we were doing, the significance of it, and approximately when it was taken. Memories fade so quickly...and I've made so many fond memories in my life that I never want to forget a single one of them.
In my photography, I use a Canon EOS Rebel XSi (body only). My main lens is a Tamron 28-80mm lens (58mm). I also have two Zeikos lenses, a 2.0x Telephoto (58mm) and a 0.45x Wide Angle (58mm). My wide angle lens is mostly used when I shoot scenery and landscape photos or when I want a dramatic effect. My telephoto lens rarely gets any use because I haven't really found out the best photos to take with it. I have a built-in flash in my Rebel and an external flash, but I rarely use flash when doing photography. I love working with natural light and experimenting with bouncing light to get the best effect. I also use various UV filter lenses and macro lenses in some photos, mostly to protect my other lenses and to get those close-up shots of tiny subjects.
I'm just beginning my journey into photography and learning something new every day. One day I hope to be a freelance photographer. It's my dream to help others capture their own memories of weddings, senior portraits, their child's first years, or various other events in their lives.
